Responsibilities:
Participate inassisting clients in acquiring, retaining, and improving communication, socialization, self-direction, self-help, and other adaptive skills necessary to reside in the community.Assist client in social interaction; use of natural supports and typical community services available to all people; and participation in education and volunteer activities.Help provide personal assistance to the client in completing activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living as an incidental component.Support the client in managing their medical care, including assisting the participant with scheduling and attending medical appointments, filling prescriptions and self-administering medications, keeping health logs and records, and monitoring participants for warning signs for a known diagnosis as identified in their service plan.Support the client to achieve the expected goals and objectives identified in the participant's ISP.Participate in community events and educational programsRequirements:- High school diploma or equivalent- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record- Must be at least 21 years old- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including criminal history check and drug screening- Strong communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations- Physical fitness and the ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, running, and lifting heavy objects if necessary
