  Overview

  We are seeking Engineers to work on our Google Cloud adoption programme with experience of working with the cloud solutions, re-platforming, and re-architecting solutions onto cloud. You will work on or lead our delivery pods and provide technical direction and engineering solutions. With responsibility for engineering delivery, you will consistently review designs and quality, drive re-use whilst playing a pivotal role in improving our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) engineering capability. You will make and contribute to strategic design decisions and defining engineering approaches to simplify architectures, reduce technical debt, and increase flow by taking advantage of the Google Cloud. You may have a certification in the GCP platform or other cloud providers, but this is outweighed by practical hands-on experience of engineering solutions onto cloud.

  What You'll Do

  Creating strategic cloud solutions that consider the risk, benefits, and conflicts of the situation, trading off the re-host, re-platform, or re-architect migration strategies

  Defining application architectures for re-platform or re-architect strategies and implement blueprints and patterns for common application architectures

  Collaboration across the Technology, Data, & Innovation (TDI) areas such as Cloud Platform, Security, Data, Risk & Compliance areas to create optimum solutions for the Business, increasing re-use, creating best practice, and sharing knowledge

  Driving optimizations in the cloud software development life cycle (SDLC) process to provide productivity improvements, including tools and techniques

  Enabling the adoption of practices such as Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) and DevSecOps to minimise toil and manual tasks and increase automation and stability

  How You'll Lead

  Engage with your key stakeholders across all layers and all geographies

  Take end to end accountability and connect people to drive a positive business outcome

  Skills You'll Need

  Hands-on engineering experience focused on building working examples and reference implementations in code

  Experience in implementing applications onto cloud platforms and usage of their major components (Software Defined Networks, IAM, Compute, Storage, etc.) to define cloud native application architectures such as Microservices, Service Mesh or Data Streaming applications

  Ability to adopt an automation-first approaches to testing, deployment, security, and compliance of solutions through Infrastructure as Code and automated policy enforcement

  Skills That Will Help You Excel

  Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
