Willing to accept a trainee. $15-$18/hour depending on experience.Responsible for operating a variety of solid waste vehicles to collect and transport solid waste and recycling materials. Operates various types of solid waste collection trucks, operates mechanism for loading, compressing and dumping refuse and recyclable materials. Drives to designated area to deliver refuse and recyclable materials. Safely operates the truck, the packing and dumping apparatus. Ensure that truck is fueled, lubricated, serviced and washed inside and outside. Report needed repairs immediately. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete daily work sheet for equipment operated. Knowledge of traffic laws involved in equipment operation, safe operations of and safety precautions necessary in operation of equipment, including various types of solid waste collection trucks. Must be able to communicate effectively, establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees and the public. Requirements: CDL B or A license. Considerable knowledge of safety standard practices and relevant traffic laws governing operation of vehicles. Considerable knowledge of the principles, operation and servicing of trucks and related automotive equipment. Must be able to properly use, operate and care for tools, equipment and materials.
