  We are looking to hire a Senior Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, the Senior Security Engineer will work alongside a team of security professionals and play a critical role in protecting Microsoft and our millions of customers and their data from security threats. Your responsibilities will include defining effective security controls, design security mitigations, partnering with engineering teams in implementing security controls, and defining security best practices to ensure that Microsoft's approach addresses both current and emerging security issues.

  Responsibilities

  In this role you will:

  Define security Policies and translate Security policy and standards to effective controls.

  Develop solutions to Identify & detect against specific threats and security control failures.

  Design systems to address identified control issues and make data-driven recommendations to improve security posture.

  Analyze trends in threats that inform prioritization for security defense building capabilities.

  Required Qualifications:

  5+ years' experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection

  OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field

  2+ years' experience in infrastructure security assessment programs or equivalent assurance related experience

  Other Requirements:

  Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Security Research IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
