Cash Application Specialist

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Major Responsibilities:
Apply and balance, in SAP system, dealer payments to detailed open receivable items according to the remittance. Payments must be applied accurately and timely.
Work with Credit department when question arises on customer account through research and analysis of payments.
Manage deduction process by analyzing customer accounts where short payments have been taken. Ensure proper recording the.
Respond to customer inquiries sent to the AR Check Remittance or calls received this includes but is not limited to reissuance of statements, credit memos, or invoices, and issuance of adjustments.
Provide information to internal and external customers by verifying understanding of request; answering questions; offering assistance.
Improve quality results by evaluating processes; recommending changes.
Attend trainings as needed to perform job duties
Understand and demonstrate Essendant’s Core Values.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
Intermediate Excel skills to download remittance information and analyze account detail.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of SAP.
Strong attention to detail
Intermediate problem solving skills to analyze account detail and payment information.
Intermediate organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize.
Strong customer service skills.
Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
Intermediate Abode skills
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable/cash application required, or four years of related experience preferred
Minimum of one year experience in Customer Service, two years preferred
