Diabetes Care Kilkenny
Our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, opening in 2024, reflects the growing demand for Abbott's global Diabetes Care products. The facility will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies, including the FreeStyle Libre 3, a system that automatically delivers real-time, up-to-the-minute glucose readings, with the smallest and thinnest wearable glucose sensor that provides unsurpassed 14-day accuracy and optional glucose alarms directly to smartphones. As a CAPA Manager you will manage a team of CAPA Engineers, ensuring the site delivers safe and effective products that meet customer needs whilst maintaining compliance. Implement quality standards, ensure, and execute compliance on every stage of the process.
Responsible for development and maintenance of the site CAPA system procedures to provide effective methodology for creation and completion of non-conformance investigations and reports.
Accountable for providing quality assurance expertise and guidance to ensure that changes to products and processes meet customer, business, and regulatory requirements.
Required to build and maintain successful cross functional relationships with departments such as R&D, Technical, Engineering, Operations and Regulatory Affairs in order to achieve all project and manufacturing goals.
Responsibilities
Prioritize and co-ordinate resources ensuring site objectives are achieved.
Ensure all communications, business behaviours are consistent with ADC values and the Abbott Code of Business Conduct.
Manage the investigation of non-conformances affecting area of responsibility and ensure implementation of timely and effective corrective action.
Present and communicate status, report metrics, identify trends and potential issues and escalate to management any issues pertaining to non-compliance or failure to achieve agreed performance targets.
Manage team including goal setting, performance reviews, development planning and performance management.
Champion ADC to internal/external auditors and regulatory bodies on any matter relating to areas of responsibility.
Safeguard area of responsibility and process are audit ready and are supported from a resource and information request perspective.
Maintain the quality and compliance of associated procedures, work instructions and training materials.
Identify and implement initiatives to enhance the Quality System.
Ensure that Quality and Compliance are consistently implemented within the business and across the division.
Maintain effective communication with team and quality management to share information and support the attainment of ADC quality objectives and business objectives.
Provide divisional assistance and guidance as SME for the area of responsibility.
Education & Experience
Minimum NFQ Level 7 Qualification in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, or other relevant discipline
6 years’ experience managing the calibration system requirements in the medical/pharmaceutical industry.
Previous experience in a leadership position.
Strong problem solving.
Good written and verbal communication.
