Actalent is seeking a Plant Manager for an opportunity in the automotive industry near Nashville, TN. The role plant is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities of plant or multiple plant operations. This position will develop and execute plans to ensure that plant operations meet all goals and objectives such as quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for all areas of manufacturing plant’s performance KPIs, including productivity, OEE, overtime, quality, 5S, etc.
· Responsible for all plant’s inventory control items, including the availability of parts when needed, reducing inventory, controlling inventory loss, improving inventory accuracy, controlling expedite cost, etc.
· Establish and control the action plans, resource plans, and financial operating budget for the plant. This includes approval and submission of the plants’ annual expense, capital, and manpower plan. Position will also oversee and direct the activities of the plant to improve profitability and reduce cost.
· Implement countermeasures to prevent injuries.
· Ensure that all safety standards are being followed.
· Ultimately responsible for maintaining TS certification. When critical quality problems arise, plant manager and team must react immediately by executing a corrective action plan designed to solve the problem and improve and maintain customer satisfaction. Root cause analysis by utilizing cross functional teams is conducted, and short/long-term countermeasures are implemented and reported to the customer.
· Develops, supervises, coordinates, provides leadership to, and reviews the work of managerial and high professional level subordinates.
· Facilitate daily meetings (with Production, Mfg Engineering, Supply Chain, also, Quality and Human Resources as needed) in order to coordinate activities and review, assign, and resolve issues.
· Communicates frequently with internal and external contacts on various issues including customer and supplier issues, manufacturing issues, community awareness, etc. Global meeting outside of business hours are required occasionally.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering field or
related field
· 8+ years of experience, ideally in the automotive industry
· 2+ years of experience in management
· Strong communication skills
· Familiar with ERP system
