　　We are hiring immediately for a CAFE MANAGER position.

　　Location: MIT, 259 Vassar St, Cambridge, MA 02139. Note: online applications accepted only.

　　Schedule: Sunday through Thursday 7am - 6pm with some evenings based on business needs. This is a seasonal position with summer and winter off.

　　Details: This position will support residential dining and will manage 15 or more employees. Key Responsibilities:

　　Takes ownership of the operation and ensures operation meets all timelines for service and all other timelines established by management and/or client

　　Manages all aspects of location payroll, safety, and marketing

　　Interacts professionally with a diverse group of associates, peers, managers, suppliers, clients, and customers

　　Demonstrates initiative and good judgment in assisting customers, clients, peers, and subordinates

　　Conducts house meetings as needed

　　Evaluates problems, and make appropriate recommendations

　　Audits units to ensure conformance with the Company, government, and accrediting agency standards, regulations, and codes regarding food storage, preparation, sanitation, and record keeping

　　Requirement: Experience working in a union environment is highly preferred. Food service operation supervision experience. General culinary knowledge of basic kitchen practices, protocols, and procedures.

　　Job Summary

　　This individual will be responsible for the supervision of the food service operation, ensuring the standards of excellence are met. They will supervise associates and support financial responsibilities.

　　Key Responsibilities:

　　Hires, supervises, trains, and coaches associates.

　　Plans, markets and executes special events/promotions in the cafe

　　Ensures compliance with proper sanitation and cleaning standards

　　Operates within the budget and identifies new ways to improve the business

　　Manages cafe operations

　　Performs other duties as assigned

　　Qualifications:

　　Bachelor’s Degree

　　At least 1-3 years of relevant experience

　　Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations

　　Operational knowledge of cash handling procedures and food service equipment

　　Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet

　　ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred
