Details about this exciting opportunity:
Part-Time Program Specialist for our Amazing Afternoons, Afterschool Program located in the Elmsford, NY school district.
This role will provide supervision to youth enrolled in the program, and assist with homework and recreational activities.
This position is 20 hours/week. Monday through Friday, 2:00pm-6:00pm.
Compensation: $15.00 – $18.00/hour.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Observe the student behavior, assess its appropriateness and apply appropriate behavior management techniques, positive redirection, or appropriate corrective action as necessary to support youth in making positive behavior choices.
Document and review group learning progress to share with participants and staff.
Responsible for designated group for duration of program or until replacement Program Specialist arrives, as groups must always remain under supervision.
Attendance and participation at all required staff meetings, trainings, and development activities and community meetings when possible.
Provide homework help and tutoring to students.
If you have the following:
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma is required, a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or a related field preferred.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
And Attributes:
Proven ability to work with youth, adults and families
Computer skills and experience with data collection and management required.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
