Overview
This position is responsible for helping to maintain the general aesthetics and maintenance of the building facilities. This includes: performing daily and frequent checks of the building and adjacent grounds to ensure general campus aesthetics are kept up to standards, including building interior, entrances, courtyard, parking, sidewalks, gates, pond; identifying items that are in need of repair; identifying security issues and/or breaches; ordering and ensuring supplies are stocked and in place and maintaining a current inventory record, and responding to issues and building facilities requests from employees. He/she will also be entering, maintaining, and generating reports (i.e. maintenance logs, daily logs, Safety, MSDS, supplies inventory, etc.) as well as tracking and facilitating ongoing planned maintenance and service needs. It is expected that the incumbent will take careful consideration when performing their job. He/she is expected to follow instructions, specific procedures and protocols, and adhere to policies to ensure a safe work environment.

Responsibilities
Primarily responsible for main headquarter buildings and assist with other campus buildings and aesthetics when required.
Responsible for tracking annual, quarterly, and weekly maintenance logs.
Manage the conference room calendar for main headquarter buildings.
Coordinate and meet with outside vendors regarding ongoing facility services, planned maintenance, and responding to building issues.
Responsible for organizing and tracking required planned maintenance services.
Manage the conference room calendar for main headquarter buildings.
Responsible for general maintenance on buildings and grounds (i.e. pond, fountain, walkways, flooring, painting, and other general maintenance items). This will include special projects such as cleaning casework as needed, planting flower containers occasionally, and larger projects that can be done as needed and be on an ongoing project list.
Assist Kemin facilities team with other items such as plumbing, electrical, etc. when needed.
Support Kemin staff by assisting with setting up for meetings, celebrations, and other events; including the ordering and restocking of on-site supplies such as beverages, safety glasses, paper for the printers; and assisting with hazardous waste removal.
Assist with minor modifications to furniture for cubicle and office workstations.
Receive deliveries, packages, and mail and distribute when applicable.
Ability to operate an electric pallet jack, forklift, and other equipment.
Ability to operate a variety of hand tools, power tools and perform various maintenance tasks.
Responsible for cleaning up debris.
Communicate and maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of Kemin employees and respond to requests promptly.
Ensure a safe environment for employees and guests.
Work with other departments such as, but not limited to Administrative Staff, R&D Staff, Shipping/Receiving, Warehousing, Maintenance, outside vendors, and company customers.
Must take careful consideration when performing job duties. Expected to follow instructions, specific procedures, and protocols, and adhere to policies to ensure the highest quality of product and a safe work environment.
Qualifications
High School diploma, or equivalent, with 0+ years of relevant experience or a 4-year degree.
Safety/ OSHA training
First aid/CPR/AED training
Hazardous material knowledge
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent people skills
Strong sense of personal responsibility
Good organizational and time management skills
Ability to read, write, and handle basic math problems
Proficient in English
Mechanically inclined
Problem-solving skills
Basic computer knowledge and MS Office background
Must have a good attendance record, ability to work with minimum supervision, and a high level of accountability for his / her work
Proactive, self-directed individual
Must be on feet frequently, moving from building to building, and will be standing or walking for long periods of time, as well as turning, carrying, bending, and twisting. Generally, there will be light to moderate lifting, but the incumbent must be able to lift 55 lbs. and be able to climb up and down stairs and ladders. This person will have dollies to pull/push equipment and packages.
