JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: The laboratory of Dr. Chun Liuin the Department of Physiology and the Cardiovascular Center iscurrently seeking a highly motivated full-time Research Technologist.Our team is at the forefront of innovative research, focusing onelucidating the mechanisms underpinning cardiovascular diseases. Weutilize an array of cutting-edge technologies, such as inducedpluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), 3D organoids, high-throughput CRISPRscreening, and perturb-seq(https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=9uDSsx8AAAAJ&hl=en). Thisposition is an excellent opportunity for those who wish to acquirehands-on experience in stem cell research and CRISPR technologies, orrecent college graduates intending to transition to graduate school,medical school, or an MD/PhD program in the biomedical sciences. PrimaryFunctions Support routine stem cell culture and assist in researchprojects involving molecular biology, cell biology, patient samplepreparation, and animal works. Assist with development high-throughputCRISPR and iPSC-derived cardiac cell model platform. Manage labinventory, order supplies, and ensure laboratory operations runsmoothly. Oversee daily lab operation in the absence of the supervisoror Principal Investigator. Participate in interpreting and assessingexperimental data and maintaining quality control of assays. Attendmeetings with the principal investigator and research staff, and assistin evaluating and interpreting experimental data. Operate, calibrate,and perform routine maintenance on specialized equipment used inresearch. Record and compile accurate records and communicate summariesof experimental results Knowledge - Skills - Abilities Bachelor\'sdegree in a biological science related research area such asbiochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, stem cellbiology, developmental biology, etc. Experience with cell culture qPCR,RNA/DNA extraction, western blots, and other relevant laboratorytechniques is preferred. Ability to manage multiple prioritiessimultaneously and work efficiently, great work ethic and positiveinteraction skills with all levels of staff. Strong organizational,communication, and time management skills.
