The Bridge EIT/Inspector willbe expected to perform local and national bridge inspections and occasionaloffice engineering (design, CADD, analysis). They will also assist thelead inspector in performing bridge inspections and preparing reports inaccordance with NBIS (National Bridge Inspection Standards) on a regularbasis.
In the role of Bridge Inspector EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:Participate in local and national bridge inspections, develop inspectionreports, and perform structural load rating calculationsWork in a team environment and independently while challenging yourself toacquire knowledge and experience in engineeringSupport the bridge design group and other disciplines by applying structuralengineering and detailing techniques in the development of structural designsPerform other duties as needed#LI-LA1QualificationsQualificationsBS in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field required.MS in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred.EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT willhave the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EITfor career progression2 years of bridge/structural inspection and design experience preferredCompletion of NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges trainingpreferred.Must be willing to work with other disciplines (bridge design, roadwaydesign, hydraulic analysis, stream restoration, planning, trafficcontrol) within the office, as necessary, during inspection downtime.Must possess a valid driver's license, and have the ability to travel formultiple night stays during the week.This position requires physical ability to perform field inspections ofin-service bridge and culvert structures, tunnel structures, highwaystructures, overhead sign structures, hydraulic structures, and metaltraffic signal poles. Physical demands include positioning extensionladders, maneuvering small boats, driving long distances, confinedspace, air travel, occasionally working at night, and walking longdistances on uneven surfaces.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
