DEA is seeking a Bridge Inspection and Preservation Intern to work in our Seattle, WA office to provide engineering support on transportation projects. This role assists professional engineers and project managers in the Transportation Business Unit with a wide range of planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance activities in the office and the field.Other duties include, but are not limited to:Supporting the Bridges and Structures practiceAssisting designers, engineers, and project managers with all aspects of projects; project set-up, drafting, design, project coordination/organization, etc.Internal coordination between groups and design teamsAssisting with project and team meetingsRequired Qualifications:Applicants must be in pursuit of a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, with three or more years of completed course work, and scheduled to graduate on or before Spring 2025Desire and willingness to work in a team-based environment that involves coordination with staff in multiple design disciplines and remote officesGood communication skills, both verbal and writtenOrganized, detail-oriented, and working well under tight deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a heavy emphasis on Excel and WordPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of drafting software application MicrostationTransportation Jobs with DEAThe increasing complexities of modern transportation include growing demands, aging infrastructure, rising costs, funding challenges, and environmental concerns.
