Benefits Coordinator Location: Bethesda, MD/ Remote Duration: 3 Months Description: This Benefits Coordinator will serve two points of focus to members; proactively engaging newly enrolled, and already enrolled members that are facing barriers to receiving their benefits, to inform them of the benefits that they are eligible for, and retroactively engaging members to ensure that they are continuing to take advantage of all of their benefits that they are entitled to. Duties: Assist new members throughout the enrollment and benefits navigation process. Ensure that member files are created, updated, and triaged appropriately in compliance with guidelines and policies including strong data entry tasks. Communicate with supervisor, Registered Nurses, Case Coordinators, and Management staff regarding member benefit issues Create and maintain member files that are up to date, secured and in compliance with guidelines Communicate with Service Coordinators, Payroll, and Scheduling Departments regarding authorized and terminated services for members. Maintain and update the authorization process and verify patients eligibility for services with the managed care organization and resolve all authorization issues Communicate with billing staff to endure authorization process is completed Ensure complete and accurate patient registration, which includes recording a members insurance Apply knowledge of funding resources, services, and clinical standards to everyday tasks Requirements: Benefits Coordinator This resource would be allocated to manage benefits enrollment counseling for the referrals, and also want to use them for other needs like outbound call campaigns. General Experience Requirement: At least three years (3) of proven work experience as a Benefits Coordinator, Benefits Specialist, or a related position aiding Patients. Education Requirement: High School Diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED) Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Related Fields is preferred
