　　Description of Duties

　　This is a seasonal position responsible for summer swimming programs at Ontario Beach Park and for the on-site supervision of a large staff of certified lifeguards. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Parks or a higher-level staff member. Direct supervision is exercised over Lifeguard Captains, Lifeguard Lieutenants, and Lifeguards. Does related work as required.

　　Temporary - Six (6) Months

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:

　　Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree (or sixty [60] college semester credit hours) plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as a coach, teacher, summer camp supervisor or an aquatic supervisor, OR;

　　Four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as a coach, teacher, summer camp supervisor or an aquatic supervisor, OR;

　　An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined within the limits of (A) and (B) above.

　　SPECIAL REQUIREMENT :

　　Possession of a valid CPR/AED (cardiopulmonary resuscitation/automated external defibrillator) Certificate, Community CPR Certificate, or CPR for the Professional Rescuer or an equivalent certification by a recognized certifying agency acceptable to the New York State Department of Health.
