　　The Associate Scientific Director is responsible for development of scientific program content program content, both branded and disease date, that is strategically aligned with our clients' objectives. The Associate Scientific Director plays a key role as the content expert responsible for understanding and effectively communicating both verbally and in writing the science of a given therapeutic category and/or brand. The Associate Scientific Director may also be called upon to participate as a medical expert for new business opportunities, including pitches.

　　You have a passion for communicating about science and have a science background that has trained you to learn new therapeutic areas quickly. You enjoy thinking about creative ways to communicate data and disease state concepts and find it interesting when you can think about data in different ways. A strong desire to jump in and learn on the job is critical, as this is a collaborative and team-based environment. You have the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment where collaboration amongst not only other scientists, but also account team members, strategists, clients and healthcare providers is common and is a key to success.

　　 What your success will look like Assist in content development for medical education programs and materials, including but not limited to advisory board meetings, promotional or educational slide decks, various digital deliverables (websites, mobile apps, video scripts), product theaters and symposia at medical congresses Provide direction and oversee the development of scientific platforms to ensure strategic alignment with client/brand objectives and aspirations Contribute to, and demonstrate an in-depth understanding of clients' strategies and be able to discuss business issues in a sophisticated manner Liaise with clients and HCPs in the development of program content Prepare meeting reports and assist in the development of briefs as necessary Establish trust and confidence with clients by demonstrating pharmaceutical industry expertise, drive, and competence in delivering on the communication strategy Research therapeutic areas and educate staff about science, clinical, and marketing issues Provide ongoing updates of medical issues that may impact brands Utilize research skills to identify healthcare professionals for recruitment across the range of medical education activities Ensure all work is of the highest quality (aligns with strategy, medically accurate, and free from errors) to uphold the standards of the company Mentor and potentially supervise more junior medical staff Assist in preparation and presentations related to new business opportunities Coordinate with client engagement staff to build and maintain strong client relationships Contribute scientific acumen to other areas of VMLY& R's healthcare practice when needed Who you are and what you bring Advanced science degree (ie, PhD, PharmD, MD) 2 years of relevant experience required Willingness to travel (travel is cyclical and is client dependent; up to approximately 20% of the time) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong technical skills (Word, PowerPoint, EndNote) Ability to efficiently conduct scientific research and come up to speed quickly on new information Strong attention to detail Ability to successful manage multiple projects/initiatives in a deadline-driven environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills ability to work effectively in a team environment Proactive, adaptable, and flexible Life-long learner with demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement

　　The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $60, 000 to $140, 000. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
