The opportunity
The Network Operations Lead is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the enterprise data network, which includes LAN, WAN, and wireless networks. This position requires strong technical expertise in network infrastructure, the ability to lead a team, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Network Operations Lead will work closely with the architecture and engineering teams, as well as other operational teams, to ensure optimal network performance and address any issues that may arise with urgency and customer focus.
How you’ll spend your day
Oversee the operations of the enterprise data network, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
Lead and manage a team of network operations professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
Monitor network performance and measure relevant KPIs, such as network uptime, latency, throughput, and capacity utilization.
Handle incident tickets and ensure they are appropriately prioritized and resolved in a timely manner.
Address major network issues promptly, coordinating with the necessary teams and stakeholders to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
Conduct root cause analysis for network problems, identifying underlying issues and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to ensure the network is designed and implemented to meet performance and security standards.
Monitor network performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing optimization strategies to enhance overall network efficiency.
Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on the network infrastructure and making recommendations for enhancements or upgrades.
Develop and maintain network documentation, including configuration details, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and security standards related to network operations.
Familiar with IT Service Mangement (ITSM) processes
Follow teva policies, proedures and GxP methodologies.
This role is primarily office-based, but occasional travel may be required to visit other company locations or attend conferences and training sessions. The Network Operations Lead may need to work outside regular business hours to address urgent network issues or during planned maintenance activities.
Your experience and qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) are highly desirable.
Proven experience in managing and leading network operations teams. 10-15 years of experience in Enterprise Networks with at least 5-6 years of managing global teams.
Strong knowledge of network technologies and protocols, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
Experience in conducting root cause analysis and troubleshooting complex network issues.
Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to measure and interpret network performance metrics.
Demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality network infrastructure.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and security standards in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is a plus.
Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Expert level knowledge in Network architecture (WAN, Campus and Datacenter)
Expertise in following technologies: IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP); IP filtering and firewalling; Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP); Quality of Service; MPLS; Wired and Wireless Ethernet protocols
Experience with Cisco Nexus series, MDS series, Wireless AP’s, Aruba Access and Wireless infrastructure, Velocloud SD-WAN or similar, F5 load balancers or similar, DNS
Experience in monitoring tools such as Solar Winds, HP Operations Manager, NetFlow
Clear and confident communication skills
