  Position Summary

  Ability to effectively garb and work in an aseptic area as evidenced by environmental and personnel monitoring data established by quality control group bioburden levels.

  Must maintain aseptic conditions as evidenced by environmental and personnel monitoring data established by quality control group bioburden levels through storage, handling, and decontamination of tools used in the area as directed by Lead or Supervisor and 5S standards.

  Maintain Personal hygiene and proper dress for working in an aseptic environment.

  Must be able to operate all functions of the Aseptic process which includes: Operating a powered industrial truck , Processing filling and packaging

  Duties

  Under the filling the process, the operator must be able to or is responsible for: • Is responsible for the daily set up and operation of the complete aseptic filling and packaging line which could consist of the following: bottle in-feed, labeler, bottle filler, bottle capper or cap torquer, check weigher, bar coder, bagger, case sealer, palletizer and other equipment and conveyors associated with the line. • Is responsible for notifying lead or manager or other authorized personnel of the need for packaging supplies or other materials for the packaging line. • Is responsible for correct hose hookups and operation of control panels which control the flow of materials to the packaging line. • Is responsible for meeting production schedules as outlined by supervision and for keeping written and electronic records as required. • Is responsible for set up and minor maintenance of all aseptic filling line equipment and will assist with the maintenance as necessary • Is responsible for the proper filling, weighing, capping, sealing, casing labeling and coding of all aseptic products • Is responsible for the setup and adjustment of equipment when changing over various size containers on the filling lines. • Is responsible for the adjustment of weights for various size containers on the filling lines.

  Under material handling • Must be capable of operating forklift trucks and other material handling equipment for the loading and unloading of trucks for the Aseptic Process• Is responsible for the delivery of the proper material on time to the various areas of the Aseptic Filling Operations. • Prepares finished goods for transportation to or from the Distribution Center. Loads and offloads trailers and stores finished and unfinished products in the proper place. • Counts and verifies by proper item and lot number, all materials during palletization, loading and unloading and stores all materials in the proper place. • Assembles, weighs and stages raw materials and packaging components needed for production and maintains proper documentation. • Must be capable of occasionally performing proper palletization of finished or unfinished products and storing them in the proper place as designated. • Must be capable of refueling or electrically recharging material handling equipment and responsible for the daily maintenance such as cleaning the equipment, checking the oil, water, battery and lubrication of the equipment, as well as entering this information onto log sheet.

  Under Processing • Is responsible for performing operations involving the accurate weighing and mixing of raw materials used for making all products which includes liquids, creams, and lotions in order to meet production schedules. • Able to operate all pumps, tanks, mixers and all associated equipment related to processing. • Is responsible for correct hose hookups and operation of control panels. • Is responsible for assembly of raw materials and accurate introduction of raw materials into mixers. • Must be certain that mixers, measuring utensils and storage tanks are thoroughly emptied, cleaned and documented as such, when changing from one product to another. • Must be certain that all openings and closing devices and related equipment are properly secured, and all machine guards in place and lock out/tag out procedures followed.

  Must be capable of performing proper palletization of finished or unfinished products and storing them in the proper place as designated, 9. Must exercise extreme caution in order to not damage other material or property while operating moving equipment and must at all times exercise extreme caution for the safety of other employees. 48 10. Is responsible for keeping equipment and surrounding work clean at all times to 5S standards as evidenced by equipment and environmental monitoring data established by quality Control 11. Must be able to read and follow formula directions shown in the Manufacturing Instructions, take proper samples for quality control, maintain accurate batching records, written and electronic, as required by management (i.e. cGMP and ISO procedures). 12. Is responsible for marking containers for disposition, such as CIP Products, etc., as “Hazardous Waste”. 13. Under the direction and monitoring of department supervisor, is responsible for the training of a replacement operator. 14. Performs other duties as directed by Lead or Manager.

  Education Degree

  High School Diploma or GEDRequired Experience

  High School Graduate or equivalent.

  Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, safety warning labels, and machine instruction manuals.

  Basic math, writing and data entry skills.

  Knowledge of liquid filling machinery, pumps, valves, piping and cGMP’s desirable.

  May be expected to move, carry, and lift approximately 60 pounds. May be expected to climb heights of approximately10 feet. Stand for long periods of time. Good hand/eye coordination. Good peripheral vision, manual dexterity, able to read scales, dials and gages, able to wear personal protective equipment as required.

  Must be able to wear all applicable PPE and Aseptic clothing. Also, must be able to effectively garb and work in an aseptic area as evidenced by environmental and personnel monitoring data established by quality control group bioburden levels Equipment listed below (Specific Job Requirements) may be used as needed to assist in these Required Competencies.

  Preferred Experience

  Knowledge of aseptic operations desirable.

  Skills

  Automatic liquid filling machine, pumps, filters, scales, sealer, bagger, capper, valves, cap torquer, hoses, inkjet coding equipment and monitoring components to the line, monitoring all liquid filling line equipment, make hook ups from different lines, routine mechanical adjustments to filling line equipment and during line change over; Pneumatic and electric pumps, steam and piping valves, scales, hoist, pickers, mixers, air pallet, material handling equipment, gas/electric forklifts and prime movers. Knowledge of processing machinery, PC’s and cGMP’s, desirable. Organize and assemble raw materials required in processing. Charging of drummed, bagged or bulk raw materials into processing tanks. Weighing of raw materials, monitoring of process temperatures, agitation, etc. Move and arrange drums on pallet from floor. Weigh drums and totes of raw materials; calculate usage required and containers as needed.

  Working Conditions and Misc,

  Performs necessary quality and inventory control data gathering and input in either written or electronic formats.

  Ability to work minimal supervision, good communication and interpersonal skills.

  Must be able to work in a manner consistent with maintaining an aseptic environment and follow all behavior and hygiene requirements established to maintain the aseptic environment (e.g. no chewing gum, no cologne; no aerosol deodorant; no make-up; only non-scented lotions; daily bathing, no jewelry).
