OverviewBrightSpring Health Services is seeking a Corporate Accounting Intern. This internship is a year-round position, 15-30 hours per week (flexibility in scheduling). The intern will assist the Corporate Accounting team to maintain records of routine accounting transactions by preparing and posting journal entries, researching the general ledger, and completing account reconciliations. This position will also assist in the analysis and interpretation of accounting records for use by management and assist in the month end close process.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with account reconciliations, trend analysis, and analyzing for completeness
Research information requests and respond to issues involving general ledger accountsAssist with corporate balance sheet accounts and perform analytical reviews of monthly activityAssist in the preparation of corporate schedules for annual audit performed by external auditorsPrepare journal entries, generate reports, and participate in related monthly accounting activities to ensure timely ledger closeMonitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company proceduresAssist in special projects, as assigned
QualificationsCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university, majoring in Accounting while maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA (4.0 scale)Must have completed introductory accounting coursesNo prior work experience requiredComputer literacy, including Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and detail-oriented Ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environmentAbility to prioritize and execute tasks in a timely mannerSkilled in reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentationStrong mathematical and analytical skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to utilize new tools and technologies in a rapidly changing environment
