Job Description:
The Senior Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting, financial and/or earned income (as needed) information by recording, verifying, consolidating, entering transactions, and reporting. This role analyzes and interprets numerical data, performs financial analyses, and prepares accurate reports within established guidelines to guide management decision-making. Problem-solve accounting practice and process issues that deal with a variety of complex situations and require judgment. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of finance and economics and an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Function as a senior team member within the department and organization, and perform required duties as assigned to best serve the company.
Prepare and record accounting entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintain the integrity of the accounts by verifying, allocating, reconciling, and resolving discrepancies.
Summarize and prepare financial status and close-out reports by collecting and verifying information and preparing statements. Prepare month-end reports for the field to explain results. Log cash as required. Assist in analyzing aged receivables as needed.
Prepare accurate earned income reports to guide management in their decision-making. Reconcile GL accounts. Analyze, reconcile and/or review various marketing and earned income accounts at each period-end, making or reviewing any necessary journal entries with minimal mistakes. Monitor marketing show promotion expenses. Prepare earned income package, including various reserves analysis at period end.
Prepare ad hoc accurate and informative reports and spreadsheets (standard to complex) for management and customers as requested.
Avoid legal challenges by complying with legal requirements and maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 standards. Interact with corporate and external audits and assist in auditing internal processes.
Protect and secure the company's confidential financial information.
Interact with Information Technology to work through any problems arising with the accounting, financial and/or earned income workflows and systems.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
3+ years of general accounting or other relevant experience in high-volume transaction environment
Thorough understanding and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
Strong analytical and computer skills
Ability to analyze complex financial information
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects/tasks in a changing environment
Self-motivated with ability to work under and meet strict deadlines individually as well as in a team environment
Ability to maintain effective working relationships
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Access
Ability to work flexible hours as required
