Description We are in search of a meticulous and dedicated Accounting Assistant to be part of our team located in Owings Mills, Maryland. The role primarily involves handling customer credit applications, maintaining accurate credit records, and resolving credit inquiries. This position is offered on a contract basis and requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Accounts Payable (AP), and Construction Accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner
• Maintain and update customer credit records to ensure accuracy
• Address and resolve customer credit inquiries promptly and professionally
• Monitor customer credit accounts and initiate action for delinquent payments
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and present data
• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) duties, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately
• Apply knowledge of Construction Accounting in the day-to-day operations
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless financial operations
• Uphold and adhere to company's financial policies and regulations
• Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of credit control operations. Requirements • Possess solid knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)
• Familiarity with Construction Accounting is preferred
• Ability to maintain accurate and complete financial records
• Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Proficiency in other accounting software will be considered an asset
