Lead software development team and all projects they undertake, analyzerequirements, update progress to leadership, identify risks, andunderstand schedules. Apply experience with Java development and teamleadership when leading the design, development and maintenance work on ascrum team focused on delivering non-traditional air content to our agencyapplications. Drive team velocity by working closely with the team tomotivate, guide and align all resources, ensuring functional developmentwork and maintenance and support activities are completed in adherence toTravelport technology standards. Work with Director to gain understanding oflong-term technology impacts and ensure development resources are developingin alignment with Travelport strategic vision. Oversee the development ofscalable enterprise applications in JSON, REST and micro-services on privateand public Cloud providers. Research and delegate tasks and achieve daily,weekly, and monthly goals. Liaise with team members, management, andcustomers to ensure projects are completed to standard. Identify risks andform contingency plans. Use knowledge of Eclipse, Linux,Spring/Hibernate, SonarQube, HTTPS, XML, WSDL, Postman, SQL,noSQL and SOAP services to lead technical design and code reviews for the teamto ensure quality of deliverables. Develop Java based APIs, microservices, and cloud technologies. Participate in feature and storyrefinement and research and analyze impact for new capabilities. Ensure thesuccessful completion of stories during each iteration to achieve ProgramIncrement Objectives. Educate all development resources on Java bestpractices, performance-minded development, and Travelport standards.Ensure team is updating status in corporate tools, including Jira, MSteams, and Confluence, as required. Apply experience driving CI/CDinitiatives and pipeline automation to generate ideas for improving overallsystem design and streamline CI/CD pipeline to generate efficiencies insystem flow. To further drive efficiencies, incorporate JUnit,REST-Assured or other automated testing technologies/tools. Participate insupporting the availability and stability of applications in production.Hybrid work schedule.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in ComputerScience, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or relatedtechnical field and 5 years of experience in Java development and teamleadership. Stated experience must include: development of scalableenterprise applications in JSON, REST and micro-services on private andpublic Cloud providers; Eclipse, Spring, Hibernate, SONAR, XML,WSDL, Postman, and SQL; JUnit, REST-Assured or other automated testingtechnologies/tools; micro services and cloud technologies; andexperience in driving CI/CD initiatives and pipeline automation.
