  Position Summary

  Employee/Labor Health & Safety work encompasses activities related to the well-being of employees including:

  Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace. Identifying potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions.

  Investigating accidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence. Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to employee health and safety. Maintaining and analyzing records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern and provide the information required by regulatory agencies.

  Responsibilities

  • Works on problems and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher-level professionals.

  • Continues building knowledge of organization and processes.

  • May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.

  • Conducts Industrial Hygiene sampling.

  • Conducts safety trainings.

  • Teammate engagement to continually increase safety awareness.

  Minimum Qualifications

  Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
