Job Description:Reporting to the Housing Specialist Supervisor, with some latitude for independent initiative and decision making, the selected candidate will perform responsible work in support of the Leased Housing Department's Housing Navigation unit.The Unit is responsible for assisting new Section 8 voucher holders in identifying, viewing and renting an apartment using their voucher.Role & Responsibilities:Accompany voucher holders on appointments to view available apartments within New York City's five boroughsInterface with property owners or the property owner's representative during apartment viewings, including explaining the Section 8 leased up process and requirementsExplain the Section 8 leased up process and property owner's rental process, as necessary, to voucher holders at the viewingConduct onsite inspection or pre-inspection if both parties agree to proceed with the rental and unit is ready for inspectionCommunicate any pertinent information regarding the viewing outcome to the Housing Navigation Unit staffPerform other related tasks as assignedRequirements :Must be available to travel to any of the five boroughs, as assigned.Ability to work flexible hours is a plus.Skills Desired:Strong written and oral communication skills.Ability to interpret and explain policies and procedures.Strong interpersonal skills.Ability to perform under time-sensitive deadlinesAbility to work with others to perform dutiesAbout our Company: -
