Sulzer Pumps UK in Leeds are looking for a Methods Planning Engineer for our Pumps, Parts, and Retrofits division. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and driven individual to join and strengthen our team.

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Methods Planning Engineer to join our team and drive excellence in our manufacturing processes. As a key player in our company's success, you will be responsible for developing best practices and optimising production methods to ensure the timely delivery of projects are managed on time.
If you have a background in production engineering coupled with hands-on experience as a skilled machinist, we want you on our team!
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
• Develop best practices and methods for efficient project planning and delivery, aligning with company objectives
• Prepare detailed machining routings for in-house parts, specifying drawings and tooling requirements
• Monitor and adjust planned versus actual hours across production, ensuring accurate labour hour estimates for sales
• Support the implementation of Lean principles, ensuring optimal production area design and resource utilisation
• Assist in sourcing alternative contractors for products or services, contributing to cost-effective production solutions
To succeed in this role, you will need:
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
• Strong relationship management and customer service abilities
• Effective team working and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances
• HNC or equivalent in engineering or science, or relevant industry experience
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles (TPM, SMED, 5S, etc.)
• Proficiency in general computer skills
