Job Summary
The Program Manager primary responsibility is to successfully lead the delivery of projects of work for our key Defence Engineering clients. This will require engaging with key stakeholders, both external and internal, to understand the overall business drivers and benefits to be realized for the projects and leading our multi-disciplinary teams to deliver these benefits within the budgets and timelines agreed.
In the initial stages of a project, it involves managing new business opportunities, developing winning proposals, defining deliver solutions, building and recruiting teams. Once secured, it involves the management and oversight of the delivery teams with respect to technical content, budget, change management, quality, and safety. The Program Manager is responsible for growing the account/accounts through relationship management with the client, identifying growth opportunities and supporting Business Development.
The project teams will typically comprise a broad range of engineering disciplines such as System, Mechanical, Electrical PLM, Software engineers and other specialists along with a project control engineer support. You will be responsible and accountable for the overall successful technical and commercial delivery of your projects.
Responsibilities
Ensure successful delivery of Contract requirements
Manage revenue, cost and profitability of the projects
Connect and regular governance with the business unit heads and other key stakeholders in the customer’s organization
Work collaboratively with the client leadership to ensure goals of engagement are fulfilled, new ideas are discussed and Workstream expansion Plans implemented
Track and report Quality-Delivery-Cost-management-technology (QDCMT) KPIs
Collaborate with delivery teams working at multiple sites globally and implement framework to present integrated solutions to the customers
Work with Sales Account managers, develop business strategies for the business units in alignment with customers vision
Work with Sales Account managers, develop business intelligence and create & strengthen differentiators to maximize outsourcing business share
With Operations Management, identify resource fulfilment needs, incremental business requirements and collaborate with delivery teams to fulfil the requirements
Help define project scope, goals and deliverables for the projects.
Select, induct and train the project team
Support and direct team
Line Management of the project team leaders, including performance management and personnel development.
Regular and appropriate Risk and Opportunity Management
Managing project Purchase Orders, Time Sheets and Invoice Management
Support and drive employee satisfaction and engagement within the project team

Microsoft Office tools
Experienced user of Project management tools like MS Projects / Primavera
Experience of common EPR System (SAP, IFS etc.) and Project reporting tool (e.g. Coupa)
Experience of common PLM Systems (e.g. Teamcenter, Windchill)
Strong Programme Management knowledge and experience, ideal with accreditation such as PRINCE2 or APM.
Good understanding of Project life cycle from concept, design, development, integration, acceptance, operations and maintenance.
Technical knowledge and understanding of various engineering disciplines and interfaces.
Strong resource management capabilities
Generation of bids and proposals
Understanding of engineering governance, metrics and reporting experience
Experience in design and development of electronics systems, ideally within defence.
Knowledge of Avionics and Aircraft Mission Systems would be desirable.
Good communication skills - Makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens effectively; clarifies information as needed.
Ability to handle discussions / communications independently
Works in a collaborative environment
Ability to develop strong customer relationships, act as a Quest Global ambassador and identify opportunities.
