Boeing is seeking a Product Standards Office Manager to join our team in one of the following locations: North Charleston, SC, Auburn, WA, Seattle, WA, Everett, WA, Tukwila, WA, Renton, WA, El Segundo, CA, Huntington Beach, CA, Huntsville, AL, Ridley Park, PA, Berkeley, MO, Hazelwood, MO, Mesa, AZ or Washington, DC.
This position is responsible for the overall execution of processes, maintenance and operation of tools and training required to execute standards processes effectively and efficiently.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages the Product Standards Office (PSO)
Partners to develop new methods that drive transformation of the PSO to enhance business outcomes
Collects, analyzes, utilizes, and disseminates standards information and data for improving standards systems and stakeholder effectiveness
Works in partnership with Enterprise functional chief engineers (FCEs), the Boeing IT & DA organization, and a wide range of internal Boeing partners to ensure consistency and integration of PSO processes and work products with company-wide processes and transformation efforts
Partners with external Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) to help shape external standards, including transformation to future digital engineering methods and workflows
Represents or delegates representation to numerous Industry and Government bodies: AIA - Standards Governance Board (SGB); AIAA - Standards Steering Committee (SSC); Systems Engineering Technical Committee (SETC) & Chair, SETC Standards Sub-Committee; SAE International - Executive Steering Committees
Partners with and supports Boeing VPs in their roles on SDO Boards of Directors
Partners with and supports Boeing executives in their SDO Executive Focal roles
Leads PSO operations, strategy and execution
Drives performance to plan across the BPSS and BESMS (including the PSO)
Manages operational excellence and/productivity of BPSS, BESMS and PSO
Develops strategy, aligns, and operationalizes the BPSS and BESMS governance structure for the enterprise
Provides the Boeing Research & Technology VP/GM and the Boeing Chief Engineer support for day-to-day operation of the BPSS and BESMS, including external technical affiliations engagements, company contributions, and tracking of performance to the Boeing Priorities and Values through numerous measures (including First Pass Quality at the Quality Leadership Reviews)
Partners with Boeing's Information Technology and Data Analytics (IT & DA), regarding the current production BPSS production system (IPDM, Docato, Wizards, etc).
Partners appropriately to enable BPSS transformation to create a future product standards production system compatible with future digital engineering requirements
Strategic development to ensure continued innovation within the product standards ecosystem
Keeps consistency with One Boeing Engineering priorities
Leads the Engineering Product Lifecycle Management (PLM, 6D) Function for Engineering Test and Technology (ET&T) - currently ~200 matrixed employees
Leads development, integration and execution of key engineering initiatives (Integration of BPSS and BESMS improvement projects currently underway throughout the Enterprise; Enterprise Technology, Manufacturing, and Integration Readiness (ETMIR) initiative)
Maintains awareness of business unit engineering capability needs and drives integration and consistency across organizations
Tracks and drives strategy to action around engineering measures of effectiveness (Safety, Quality, and Productivity measures)
Communicates strategically and effectively across the enterprise, engineering and within vertical leadership
Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers
Partner to develop new methods that drive transformation of the PSO to enhance business outcomes
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Managerial experience
Project management training
Experience with advanced manufacturing, materials development and airplane development processes
Experience with airplane safety and certification processes
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
PMP certification
Advanced degree in Engineering and Management
Experience with Boeing design practices and digital engineering initiatives
Strategic thinking and planning and strong customer focus with organizational skills
Experience developing technical and/or business strategy
Excellent communication skills demonstrated with early career employees to senior Executives
Experience building relationships with customers to understand current pain-points, priorities, and opportunities to create additional value
Global workforce and collaboration experience
Technology maturation and transition, program management experience
Experience with CRAD/OTA proposals, opportunity shaping, execution and customer management

Summary pay range: $178,500 - $258,750
