Precision Combustion, Inc (PCI) is a growing technology company whose mission is to develop new technologies and products for clean energy. We have a proven technical and business team with skills in fuel reforming, solid oxide fuel cells, sorption, power generation, air revitalization, catalytic combustion, and novel specialty applications working to develop solutions for business and government customers.
Role and Responsibilities
For this newly created position, we are seeking an entry-level, ambitious material or chemical engineer with strong fundamentals, a curious and creative mind-set, attention to detail, and the desire to learn and grow within our multi-disciplinary environment. This hands-on position will offer exposure to project phases from concept to product development.
You will support the manufacturing of fuel cell systems and components under the guidance of industry leaders, which includes 14 Ph. D.'s, offering an opportunity to learn technical and project management skills with a path for career advancement. You will be required to research, review, and stay up to date with relevant technical literature and have the opportunity to contribute to publications, including patents.
Responsibilities Include:
Develop and test inorganic (metal and ceramics) materials.
Develop/optimize manufacturing processes of components for electrochemical cells.
Evaluate electrochemical cell components for QA/QC.
Carefully document data to assess components and processes.
Perform process optimization, process intensification, and manufacturing cost reduction.
Review and stay up to date with relevant technical literature.
Gather and summarize test data for analysis and presentation to senior staff.
Requirements
BS in Material Engineering or Chemical Engineering with 0-3 years' experience, and comfortable with inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, electrochemical reactor.
Solid understanding of various ceramic material synthesis/fabrication processes.
Hands-on wet chemistry lab experience.
Familiarity with electrochemistry and materials/fuel cell component synthesis desirable.
Experience with analytical techniques, SEM, TEM, BET, and EIS is a plus.
