The Manager, SDG Product Specialist is responsible for managing a team of hybrid inside sales specialists who sell specialty diagnostics laboratory products and services into acute and non-acute markets 50% face to face and 50% telephone; email, videoconferencing, and other technologies within a defined geographic territory. This role will be responsible for creating a culture of technical product support and mentoring of the broad inside and field sales organizations to effectively drive mind share and ultimately business growth across the assigned product responsibilities. This role will also drive commercial accountability with the team across all metrics and marketing initiatives. The Manager, SDG Product Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the team has effective customer relationships, develops opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assures market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts. The Manager, SDG Product Specialist will complete account planning and forecasting, and analyze reports to drive business decisions. Additionally, the role will lead performance through critical metrics and ensure the effective use of available sales tools and processes, via the CRM (Salesforce.com).
A Day in the Life:
Develop and drives critical initiatives created in conjunction with Inside Sales leadership with input from the Specialty Diagnostics Group
Drive established sales strategies to meet plan and expand business within assigned territories; maintains a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives
Deliver performance evaluations holding the team accountable for performance metrics and utilization of sales technology
Lead team to maintain customer relationships primarily with lab managers and end users within assigned territory
Leverage available resources to meet customer needs and work effectively with cross-functional teams of supplier and internal resources
Research competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products and services of interest to customers incorporating this data in the business plan for the team
Handle pricing strategies with each team member to deliver profitability targets for the entire team
Keys to Success:
Education
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in business or science and/or equivalent experience, preferably in the sciences or equivalent work experience. MBA is a plus
5 years of sales experience, preferably in the clinical laboratory industry
Prior Supervisor/Management experience preferred
Experience
Detailed understanding of the capital selling process
Knowledge and experience in clinical diagnostics market segments, sales processes, and industry-specific products and market dynamics
Experience with Salesforce.com
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication, and presentation skills
Consistent record of leadership in establishing goals and achieving results
Computer communication proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams
Must deliver excellent customer service
Must possess the interpersonal skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed

Ability to mentor and develop talent to deliver consistent hard-working results
Understanding of standard business practices related to sales operations processes and systems (sales cycle, forecasting, funnel management, sales methodology, CRM, territory management, etc.)
Willingness to travel at least 50% of your time
