JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Title Nurse Practitioner orPhysician Assistant - Hematology & Oncology GU (Outpatient) PositionDescription: The Medical College of Wisconsin\'s Department of Medicine,Division of Hematology & Oncology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner orPhysician Assistant to provide primary or specialty medical care withindefined scope of practice under the supervision of a licensed physicianand in accordance with MCW/FMLH/CHW policies and procedures. Thisposition will support the outpatient cancer services focusing on GUOncology located in Milwaukee, WI at Froedtert Hospital, Cancer Center,and other outpatient cancer clinics. The Advanced Practice Provider(APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who willcontribute to excellence in program administration, patient care,patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. Our cancerphysicians are among the most highly regarded in the field of oncologytoday, and many of them devote their entire practice to a particulartype of cancer. Using their combined knowledge and expertise, they formpersonalized treatment plans that result in the best possible outcomefor each patient. The MCW Cancer Center (MCWCC) is the only academiccancer research center in our area - a distinct region that includeslarge, underserved populations, patients who experience significantdisparities in cancer incidence and outcomes and unique cancer problemsIn this role you will, Collaborates with interdisciplinary health careteams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiringHematology/Oncology intervention in outpatient environment as a memberof the HemOnc outpatient service. Writes accurate and timely progressnotes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders. Order,perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests,and appropriately communicates and documents information. Privileged toperform procedures beyond core as identified by the Hematology/Oncologyservices. Facilitates and communicates with patient, family, and staffto promote continuity of care across the continuum of care. Attendrequired training and meets key regulatory requirements, including thoseof the privileging institution, CMS, and the Joint Commission. Evaluatesquality outcomes for the patients receiving care of this team throughparticipation in the development of quality indicators and outcomesdashboard.
