A Brief Summary of This Position:
Valmont is seeking a talented individual to join our Investor Relations team in our Corporate Division. While gaining experience in the field of Investor Relations, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with subject matter experts across the company to learn about Valmont’s businesses and support functions. You will also be able to tap into your technical skill set by analyzing and explaining data in support of Investor Relations Communications.
Valmont’s internship program mission is to enable a rising workforce to advance the success of Valmont’s global operations. We do this through recruiting and retaining top talent, opportunities for professional development and mentorship, and real-world projects alongside practical coaching.
This position is to start as soon as possible with the goal of continuing through the summer.
Essential Functions:
Conduct market research on Valmont’s end markets and competitor communications
Assist in writing and developing content for Wall Street, including press releases
Monitor Investor Relations email inbox and assist with addressing or resolving shareholder inquiries
Use an IR CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool to track investor relationships and quarterly KPIs
Develop and distribute reports on shareholder activity changes
Analyze sell-side analyst models and identify outlying trends
Explain data through quantitative presentations
Utilize presentation skills to communicate Valmont’s story
Develop and maintain strong working relations with team members and colleagues
Safeguard sensitive information by maintaining confidentiality protocols
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Problem Solving and Communication skills
Working knowledge of finance materials: balance sheet, income statement, etc.
Familiar with Public Markets
Able to interpret data
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
Progress towards a Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
Prior experience working with analytics
Proficiency in Power BI, or other analytical tools
Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Minimum base pay of $21.00 per hour and maximum of $26.00 per hour.
