What You'll Be DoingAs a member of the Space Situational Awareness and Spaceflight Safety Team,you will be providing technical capabilities to support our customers in spacesituational awareness analysis and flight safety.
In this role, you will:You will contribute to multiple focus areas of the department, which includespace domain awareness (SDA), SDA data management, space objecttracking and cataloguing, space debris analysis, launch support, spacetraffic management, radio-frequency interference, and laser deconfliction.Our real-time operations support performs launch and on-orbit collision riskassessments, on-orbit breakup event evaluation, and deorbit/reentry analysisIndependently conduct technical deep dives, trade studies, and assessmentsin teams with multi-disciplinary technical leaders, Aerospace Program Officepersonnel, and external customers to define and address customer needsDevelop and present timely and technically accurate briefings and reports thatclearly communicate analysis results and provide recommended solutions totechnical leads, management, and customersTravel occasionally (as necessary) to support customer efforts
What You Need to be SuccessfulMaster's or PhD degreefrom an accredited college/university programinAerospace engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related technicaldiscipline (Pursuing or conferred within the last 12 months)0-1 year of professional postgraduate experienceOrganizational skills, to include:Self-management of multiple tasks, deadlines, and deliverablesAbility to take direction, work independently, and develop productiveworking relationshipsAptitude with astrodynamics and related mathematicsSkills in mathematical formulation and derivationDemonstrated skills in the development and use of computer software toolsThis position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a securityclearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.
