Union position
IBEW PAY RATE: $32.40
Performs preventive and general maintenance of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment. Checks with area personnel for deficiencies. Checks operation of unit for water or fluid leaks, noise and vibration, checks electrical connections, makes appropriate adjustments. Performs minor repairs, replaces failed motors, replaces filters, oils and lubes machinery and fan bearings, performs corrosion control. Checks tension, condition and alignment of belts, adjusts or replaces as necessary. Cleans evaporator coils, drain pans, blowers, fans, motors, and drainpipes. Using appropriate gauges, takes equipment readings, takes and records temperature readings, pressure readings, and electrical readings. Completes appropriate forms and paperwork. Evaluates machinery to determine if repair is needed. Assists HVAC Mechanics as required; performs preventive and general maintenance on equipment and machinery and holds a current EPA certification (40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F). During operation of unit, checks refrigerant pressure, adds refrigerant as necessary. Requires practical skills and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical to perform repair to buildings incidental to the initiation or completion of equipment preventative maintenance.
