PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY: The Dental Clinical Director is a senior-level administrative position responsible for all dental services at FHC sites. This responsibility includes the authority to oversee all aspects of dental care delivery, regulatory compliance, quality, efficiency, and the supervision of all dentists and dental hygienists. The Dental Director is directly accountable to FHC Chief Executive Officer.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
1) Dentist Provider
a) Works as clinical provider
2) Health Care Plan
a) The Dental Director shall formulate, implement, and supervise the Center's Health Care Plan as it relates to the provision of dental services
b) The Health Care Plan shall constitute an organized blueprint of the strategy and logistics of the health Services provided by FHC. The formula is based on community dental needs, an epidemiological survey of the Service Area, and general demographics
· It is used to generate an accurate assessment of the patient's health care needs
· The Health Care Plan shall be reviewed annually and modified as necessary in
collaboration with the Medical Director
3) Supervise Dental Providers
a) Reviews applications , interviews, and recommends to the CEO potential dental staff
b) Evaluates Dentists and Hygienists or delegates evaluation of Hygienist to another Dentist
c) Provides feedback to each provider regarding:
· Encounter data
· Peer review data
· Team feedback
d) Chairs regular provider meetings to keep dental clinical staff apprised of current corporate
Goals and Objectives as they pertain to dental services and encourage patterns of care
directed toward the accomplishment of these Goals and Objectives
e) Maintains strict compliance with the state and federal practice guidelines.
f) Assures that continued dental education, skills, and training for all clinical staff are
maintained as required to ensure high levels of professional competency.
g) Stimulates collegiality among clinical staff so that cooperative allegiance and productive
thinking is cultivated
h) Provides leadership to the dental care team in all disciplines in their pursuit of operating an
