Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified individual with demonstrated leadership skills to fill the role of Equipment Maintenance Manager. This role will report to the Director of Total Productive Maintenance and will manage a team of highly skilled Equipment Maintenance and Controls employees. This team maintains several manufacturing facilities within a 500+ Acre campus.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Continuously drives a culture focused on Safety.
• Improves, develops, and oversees an effective system for processing and tracking equipment maintenance work orders.
• Communicates with operations and other management to ensure preventative maintenance is completed correctly and on time in the least disruptive manner possible.
• Improves, develops, and oversees a system of spare parts management.
• Ensures proper staffing and skillsets to support operations and business plans.
• Creates scope, cost and time estimates quickly for equipment maintenance projects.
• Participates strategically as part of the leadership team providing insight and recommendations related to equipment, projects, and capital expenditures.
• Develops, adjusts, and monitors Equipment-related metrics to ensure team performance, achievement of goals, and to identify improvement opportunities.
• Provides support in planning and management of large capital projects.
• Provides oversight of contractors
• Owns/maintains policies and procedures for both preventative and reactive equipment maintenance.
• Manages and assigns priorities & tasks, follows up to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
• Ensures proper training of team members and maintains accurate training records.
• Provides coaching and feedback to direct reports, helps develop next level leaders.
• Provides performance management and annual performance appraisals for direct reports.
• Evaluates contract proposals for equipment-related capability and readiness.
• Develops and manages annual department budgets.
• May be required to respond to 24-hour emergency calls.
Required Experience & Skills:
• Ability to obtain approval through BATF for access to work at all plant locations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage several large and small projects at the same time.
• Good judgement and business acumen, able to set priorities aligned with business needs.
• Professional level communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of various trades with multiple areas of responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and handle disciplinary situations in a professional and constructive manner.
• General understanding of equipment codes and regulations
• Ability to read and interpret equipment blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency CMMS applications, HMI/SCADA software, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
