OPPD's Operational Technology Department is looking for an ADMS Engineer who is a technically competent, critical thinking individual that is passionate about the design, development, and integration of new technologies and engineering applications necessary for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the OPPD Outage Management System (OMS) and Distribution Management System (DMS). We're seeking an Engineer to join a team of passionate, hardworking, goal-orientated individuals.
Department Overview:
The mission of Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) within the Enterprise Operational Technology Department is to provide comprehensive engineering solutions to improve distribution system reliability and enable future growth of the electric grid modernization efforts. In addition, the group provides outstanding engineering support to Operations by resolving complex issues via implementation of state of the art technology.
This position is in the ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) Operations team. The ADMS team provides technical support for Grid Operations as well as operational, engineering, and project management support for the ADMS platform. The ADMS is used by OPPD¿s Distribution Operators to monitor, control and optimize the performance of the district's electric system. The ADMS also provides OMS (Outage Management System) functions which are used by Operations to manage district customer outages, perform switching instructions, and manage outage requests.
Position Summary:
ADMS Engineer, will report to the Manager ADMS OT Apps. This group consists of both Computer and Electrical Engineers who provide operational support of tools utilized by Grid Operations. Within the role, candidates will be expected to participate in strategic planning and engineering analysis of the ADMS infrastructure, work with project managers and partners within other departments (i.e. IT, Substation and System Protection, Protection Automation and Engineering, Grid OT) for their support in completing critical work, managing interfaces, and managing system performance.
Support day-to-day maintenance activities for ADMS
Perform troubleshooting tasks for all systems.
Support field project tasks as assigned and in coordination with EMS engineers.
Support system integrations.
Responsible for identifying and addressing gaps in ADMS processes.
Interact with internal customers for the change of ADMS applications, databases and displays to meet the business need.
Provide support to ADMS Operations including ADMS On-Call duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
Good oral/written communications and human relations skills and have
A valid driver's license.
Programming skills in languages and applications such as C, C++, XML, SQL, JAVA, HTML, Python, Microsoft Office, current Linux/Windows Operating Systems, computer machine language and/or scripting languages
Desired:
Previous engineering experience related to District operations
Previous experience with above programming languages and/or applications
Power engineering emphasis
