  CRNA Manager

  Full-Time

  Responsibilities: Administrative

  Provides administrative and clinical leadership to CRNA staff. Establishes and develops an environment that fosters initiative, accountability, and excellence in patient care.

  Oversees the work of CRNA staff, including periodic shadowing in the operating room.

  Assists in the interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new CRNA staff. Trains and orients new staff once hired.

  Completes annual and probationary performance evaluations.

  Coaches CRNAs on their performance and disseminates feedback from evaluations written by attendings. In coordination with physician leadership, performs disciplinary action when necessary.

  Assists with CRNA scheduling in the main campus and offsite locations.

  Develops and employs methods to continuously assess and improve performance. Directs new initiatives and the development of best practices.

  Facilitates communication between physicians, department management, and CRNAs.

  Ensures that department and hospital policies and procedures are communicated appropriately and applied consistently.

  Disseminates information regarding department and hospital initiatives. Actively promotes staff engagement.

  Arranges CRNA staff meetings and sets meeting agendas.

  Serves on the Department’s administrative leadership team and acts as a role model for all staff.

  Responsibilities: Clinical

  Using proper techniques, works with attending anesthesiologist to administer anesthetics. Performs anesthetist duties under supervision, as outlined and planned by the attending anesthesiologist.

  Participates with attending anesthesiologist in pre-operative assessment, formulation and implementation of the anesthetic plan, initiation of the post-operative pain regimen,and administration of controlled substances according to all applicable HSS policies and procedures.

  Transfers patients from the operating room to the post anesthesia care unit with appropriate monitoring and interventions. Transfers care appropriately to the PACU team, including appropriate sign out. Starts PCA pumps when indicated.

  Accurately documents presence in operating room to maintain accurate patient records.

  Accurately documents plan of anesthetic care to maintain accurate patient records.

  Demonstrates proficiency in using a needleless system.

  Demonstrates the proper use and storage of controlled substances as per department, hospital and state regulations

  Remains knowledgeable of hospital and department standards and regulations.

  Promotes a team-centered approach to facilitate the achievement of clinical, department and work group goals.

  Demonstrates proficiency in use of department and hospital computer applications such as Epic, E-Learning, Outlook email, and the Saturday OR sign-up process.

  Participates in ongoing departmental research, teaching conferences and quality assurance to develop and maintain accurate skills and techniques.

  Adheres to all practice standards outlined by Hospital Administration and governing regulatory bodies.

  Qualifications

  Required:

  Masters Degree in nurse anesthesia

  Current New York State Registered Nursing license

  Graduation from a program of nurse anesthesia education accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.

  Current American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) CRNA certificate

  Minimum of three years prior experience as a CRNA

  Working Conditions: Physical Requirements

  Physical: Continuously stand/walk or lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight.

  Environmental: Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise.

  Hazards : OSHA Category 1: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials.

  Pay Range - Minimum

  USD $260,000.00/Yr.

  Pay Range - Maximum

  USD $290,000.00/Yr.
