JOB REQUIREMENTS: Primary Duties & Responsibilities - Contacts membersthroughout the loan decision process to gather background information onapplicants by interviewing and obtaining credit bureau reports,determines if the member qualifies for a loan or if additionalcollateral/ co-signors are needed, verify member\'s signature on loandocuments, and approve or deny loan requests. - Calculatesdebt-to-income ratios on loan applicants, estimates monthly obligations,and determines member\'s ability to repay debt along with securingcollateral when necessary. Records and verifies all reasons fordecision. Explains decision to members and outlines terms, fees, andconditions of the loan. -Offers ancillary products to members whenappropriate, including Debt Protection, GAP Insurance, and ExtendedWarranty coverage. -Demonstrates a helpful, polite, friendly attitudealong with providing exceptional member service. -Responsible forfollowing up on delinquent loan accounts, insurance needs and otherissues that may arise. -Follows procedures for loan documentation, andmaintains orderly files on each account with complete and accuratedetailing of all correspondence. -Keeps abreast of changes in consumer,commercial, business, and agricultural lending trends as they apply.-Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out theresponsibilities of this position. Work Relationships and Scope:Consumer Loan Officers report directly to the Retail Loan DepartmentManager. Has direct contact with members and all other support staffdirectly associated with consumer loans. Due to the nature of theposition, will work with almost all employees at WCCU. PerformanceDimensions: - Provide outstanding service to members through excellentcommunication and thoroughly understand relevant issues and theadministrative processes involved in choosing a proper course ofaction. - Ability to attend to numerous details with frequentinterruptions under the stress of maintaining courteous, effective, andtimely relations with a variety of individuals and personalities whilekeeping lending duties assigned a priority. - Promotes quality,accuracy, timeliness, reliability, and thoroughness of work performed. -Is punctual, flexible, reliable, and exhibits a friendly and helpfulattitude while maintaining all information as confidential according toour policy. - Possess ability to gain the trust and respect of members,management, employees, and outside business contacts while maintaining apositive, professional working relationship - Enhances job growththrough continuing education, as required or necessary. - Coordinatesschedule with Branch Manager of work locations. - Professional,well-developed interpersonal skills essential for interviewing loanapplicants and projecting a positive image as a representative of theCredit Union. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:Experience: Three years experience in a lending department. Experiencein interviewing preferred.
