Responsibilities:
Equipment Coding Engineer with responsibility to analyze telecommunications equipment using Common Language® Standard technical documents, categorizing the equipment, recommending standard naming and updating the industry repository.
Included will be the analysis of schematic and circuit drawings, and documentation to accurately identify and categorize equipment, and determine the appropriate values for a wide range of attributes utilized in the provisioning process. The engineer must also communicate with equipment manufacturer technical engineers and other iconectiv individuals to gather the necessary equipment specifications. Also required is quality assurance verification of encoded items.
The right candidate will have a high degree of personal motivation and a strong personal work ethic encompassing eagerness to expand responsibilities, consult with others, and a can-do attitude.
K ey Areas of Responsibility:
•Partner with Equipment manufacturers to ensure satisfactory communication of detail for each equipment coding request and to resolve issues.
•Coding of physical equipment, software, and licenses.
•Analysis of equipment attributes to ensure they are complete and plausible, cross-referencing where possible and appropriate.
•Quality Assurance of coded items.
•Assist other team members.
•Participate in testing of upgrades to application used for Equipment Coding.
•Manage to tight timelines.
•Participate in special projects and other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills:
•Associate’s degree in Electronic & Computer Technology or Network Systems Administration or equivalent.
•Highly motivated team player.
•Exhibits relentless attention to detail.
•Self-starter that has the ability to work with minimal oversight and has organizational skills to define, execute, track, and refine project activities.
•Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, both technical and non-technical.
•Ability to manage technical, business, and sensitive manufacturer relationship issues through clear communications.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
•Travel will be up to 10%.

Additional Skills:
•Knowledge of current telecommunications equipment and technologies (e.g., IP; DWDM; etc.).
