  Project Outline:

  The successful candidate will work alongside laboratory scientists to develop and execute a project contributing to the optimization of viral vector cell line development. In this role, the candidate will work with innovative technology and learn multiple laboratory techniques and procedures associated with viral vector production and Cell Therapy Manufacturing. These will include culturing mammalian cell lines, transfection, transduction, and other steps of cell line development.

  The selected intern will participate in activities such as design and execution of experiments, data analysis, and will communicate their results in team meetings.

  How you will contribute:

  Work with Sr. Scientists to design complex studies.

  Learn and use industry standard manufacturing technologies.

  Execute lab-based experiments - cell culture, cell passaging, cell transfection and transduction.

  Maintain detailed and accurate records of experiments, protocols, and results.

  Analyze and present results during team meetings.

  Requirements / Qualifications:

  Currently authorized to work in the US (United States) without sponsorship. Takeda does not provide sponsorship for internship positions.

  Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) at the Cambridge, MA location, within the core business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, for 12 weeks during the summer months.

  Undergraduate, Graduate student with completion of a minimum of 1 years of university studies.

  Must be pursuing a degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.

  Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with Takeda.

  Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication and writing skills.

  Deadline-driven with an elevated level of organizational and planning skills.

  Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills.

  Proven record of accomplishment of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity.

  Global mindset to grow in a diverse work environment.

  Hands on experience with aseptic cell culture

  The candidate must be motivated to learn and work under minimal supervision.

  Positive attitude about working in a fast-paced environment and adaptability to project priorities.

  Working knowledge of cell therapy is a plus.

  The hourly pay rate range is $20.00 per hour - $46.00 per hour. The final pay rate offered for this internship may consider several factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
