Surgical Services -- RN Operating Room Circulator

　　Scheurer, a critical access rural hospital, is seeking a registered nurse to work as a Casual employee in the Surgical Services Department.  The Operating Room Circulator RN is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in Surgical Services Ambulatory area for all patient populations. The responsibilities of the Surgical Services RN include but are not limited to:

　　Rotating through all specialties of Surgical Services (Ambulatory Surgery, Operating Room, Recovery Room)Preparing patients for surgery.Collaboration and caring for the patient during their Operative episode.Verification of Universal ProtocolGiving SBARQ reportEnsuring all specimens are handled correctlyDocumentation on electronic recordRestocking of supplies and care of equipmentFunctioning as a team playerRecovering patients from surgery.Discharging patients from Ambulatory SurgeryAs a Scheurer employee it is expected that the RN will strive to achieve the highest standards of excellence everyday demonstrating:

　　Outstanding clinical and critical thinking skillsWork schedule flexibility"The Scheurer Way" consistentlyThe candidate must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing and possess a current RN license from the Michigan State board of Nursing.  This position requires two years of perioperative nurse experience.  BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications must be obtained within one year of hire date if not already achieved.  The selected candidate will enjoy a professionally challenging and rewarding role in our growing facility.
