This role will establish, monitor, and maintain effective routine procedures for accounting to ensure accurate reporting of financial information. This position must interpret and apply generally accepted accounting principles in performing day to day responsibilities such as posting entries into ledgers, verifying source data to ensure accuracy of debits and credits, and reconciling bank statements and other ledger accounts.Responsibilities include:Month-end close and financial statement preparation including detailed schedules of general ledger accountsAccounts Receivable monitoring and collections effortsAnnual Audit supportTreasury management Including (daily cash reconciliation, preparation of ACH and wire transactions, cash forecasting)Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recordedOversee proper posting for payables, receivables, and payroll processesMaintaining internal controls related to financial statements and asset protectionAbility to update ERP system as needed for financial statements and financial analysisManage one direct report and work closely with team members assisting in accountingAssist as needed with the budget processPerform account reconciliationsMaintain fixed assets and depreciation accountsRespond to information requests by researching and interpreting data, providing answers to accounting questionsPrepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reportsOther Duties as assignedQualificationsRequired:Education: Bachelor's Degree in AccountingExperience: Minimum of 5 years in accountingOther Qualifications:Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to manage time, plan, and organizeAble to apply knowledge of generally acceptable accounting principlesUnderstanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practicesUnderstanding of overhead rates (government experience a plus)Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g., Unanet, Excel, Word, MS Teams)Detailed oriented and enjoys working independently with operational processesEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
