　　Southern Seven Health Department is seeking applications for a regular,part-time (10 hours per week) position that is based at the MassacCounty Public Health Clinic in Metropolis, Illinois. The base officelocation is flexible depending upon where the candidate resides. Thisposition is a paraprofessional support person who gives basicbreastfeeding information in scope of their practice and encouragementto WIC pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.

　　Qualifications: The applicant must have at least a High School Diplomaor GED; must have breastfed at least one baby (does NOT have to becurrently breastfeeding) and must be enthusiastic about breastfeedingand wants to help other moms enjoy a positive experience.

　　Job Duties:

　　Receives a caseload of WIC mothers (clients) and makes routine periodiccontacts.

　　Provides basic breastfeeding information and support to new mothersincluding: telling them about the benefits of breastfeeding, overcomingcommon barriers, preventing and handling common breastfeeding concerns,and getting a good start with breastfeeding.

　　Talks with WIC pregnant and breastfeeding mothers by telephone, texting(on agency provided cell phone), and face to face visits in the clinicsettings.

　　Is available outside the WIC Clinic and the usual 8:30 4:30 workingschedule to new mothers who are having breastfeeding problems this iscounted as work time.

　　Works directly with clients (mother to mother) in obtaining informationand follow-up visits.

　　Completes required client records and maintains security, accuracy, andcompleteness of written records and electronic databases.

　　Seeks input from Supervisor when dealing with unusual situations.

　　Refers mothers according to clinic-established protocols.

　　Follows all policies and procedures related to confidentiality and HIPAAregulations.

　　Performs other duties as requested or assigned to meet the requirementsof the agency.
