Making Cents International is seeking a Website Migration and Design Consultant to support the USAID YouthPower2: Learning & Evaluation (YP2LE) activity. YP2LE is a global project that uses a positive youth development approach to better inform future youth programs, policies, and strategies to increase youth engagement in development efforts by amplifying the voices of youth around the world. The Website Migration and Design Consultant will contribute to the merger of two USAID youth-focused Drupal websites by advising on a merged site design and functionality, ensuring it aligns with our client’s vision and requirements and meets the needs of its targeted audiences: youth-serving practitioners and youth.
Role and Tasks
Support planning of the merger of two USAID websites, ensuring a unified and user-centric platform
Advise on the technical strategy for website and user data migration, focusing on optimizing performance, usability, and accessibility for a multi-language site
Advise on mobile-friendly site designs, ways to improve load times and user accessibility, and options for multi-language platforms
Advise on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies to maintain or enhance search engine rankings and manage URL redirection
Provide guidance on data backup procedures and implement robust, compliant security measures
Proposed Level of Effort and Work Schedule
Estimated Level of Effort is 40 hours. The initial engagement is estimated to span up to one month with the possibility of extension based on project needs.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field and 12 years of related experience OR a bachelor’s degree and 18 years of related experience
Demonstrable experience in website migration, design, and optimization
Familiarity with federal U.S. Government website guidelines and compliance standards
Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and technical architecture, with a strong preference for working knowledge of Drupal
Expertise in UX design principles and mobile-responsive design
In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices and URL management
Strong understanding of security protocols and data backup procedures
Experience in stakeholder communication and project management
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and manage project timelines effectively
Strong knowledge of MS Office and Google applications
Exemplary ability to communicate in English (written and spoken) and visually, including ability to draft client deliverables that require little or no editing
