General Description
Niagara County Community College is seeking a dynamic and innovative Web Marketing Specialist to lead the charge in reinventing our online presence. We’re seeking a tech-savvy marketing professional experienced in website development. This role is an exciting opportunity to shape the digital face of our institution and contribute to our success. This position is a non-ranked professional reporting to the Director of Public Relations.
The Web Marketing Specialist will ensure the college’s website is current, dynamic, easy to navigate, and optimized for all audiences (prospective and current students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community.) The Web Marketing Specialist is the driving force behind the college’s website, evolves the website’s taxonomy, and maintains the college brand’s integrity as presented on the website. The Web Marketing Specialist will demonstrate expertise in project management and have a strong analytical mindset. This position will be responsible for effectively managing multiple projects concurrently. This position will also excel in proactive problem-solving, ensuring efficient project execution, and consistently meeting deadlines.

Typical Work Activities
Works with campus clients to design and implement web content. Writes, edits, and formats web page copy to present messages effectively. Updates and expands information on the website to ensure up-to-date content and attract repeat users.
Oversees the decentralized web editing system, including training and assisting unit-level editors and educating them about the best practices and web analytics.
Collaborates with graphic designers, content creators, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and engaging online experience.
Establishes, tracks, analyzes, and reports website key performance indicators that characterize progress toward unit-level and institutional objectives. Contributes to and supports digital strategy for advertising campaigns, including configuring conversion tracking and characterizing campaign performance utilizing data to inform decisions.
Oversees all components supporting web development and operation, such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Programmable Search Engine, and Google Search Console.
Maintains the college’s website, consistent with the College’s brand standards.
Manages accessibility for the College website. Conducts Accessibility audits for web content and documents and ensures easy navigation for all students in compliance with Federal ADA requirements. Stay current with local, state, and federal compliance expectations related to college websites.
Maintains knowledge of best practices in web design and web-adjacent technology.
Review the web privacy and web policy at least annually and inform supervisor of any updates as needed.

Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing; must be able to relate to and interact with members of the faculty and senior administration; must be able to develop and prepare written reports; must be able to operate computers; must be able to physically perform the functions of this position.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in website design or related field.
Minimum three years of experience in website development and administration.
Strong skills in web content and graphic design.
Ability to produce and manage web pages in a WordPress environment.
Understanding of website best practices, accessibility, and usability testing.
Desirable Qualifications
Master’s degree in website design or website development or a field related to communications;
Experience in content strategy and web and social media applications;
Experience working in higher education,
experience in marketing, social media, advertising, or related services.;
Understanding of art direction.
Knowledge of current website accessibility standards ( WCAG ) and compliance requirements
