Web Developer Gustavus Technology Services Description JOB SUMMARY: The Web Developer is a key member of a dynamic team of professionals who oversee the College's web presence. The ideal candidate will play a key role in advancing our web development initiatives, working with Linux, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, Doctrine, Twig, and jQuery. Additionally, the successful candidate will contribute to the migration from our in-house CMS to Drupal, showcasing exceptional proficiency in Drupal development and content management. This position reports to the Director of Web Services. Employment Type: Full-time (1.0 FTE), Benefits-Eligible, Exempt (Salaried) This position is eligible for a remote or hybrid work environment. Candidates must be a MN resident and be able to visit campus occasionally for staff/campus events. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, implement, and maintain web applications using Linux, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP, Doctrine ORM, PHP Twig, HTML5/CSS, and Javascript/jQuery Collaborate with cross-functional teams to migrate from the current in-house CMS to Drupal and establish best practices for future Drupal development Collaborate with content creators and stakeholders including Marketing and Communication, and department leaders, to create and update content that ensures a seamless and user-friendly experience Identify and implement personalized content strategies in collaboration with content creators and stakeholders, aiming to enhance user engagement and overall site effectiveness Provide training and support for the College's web tools and systems Explore the potential use of Drupal in a decoupled configuration with modern frontend frameworks like NextJS for potential enhanced flexibility and performance, with a focus on prioritizing an easy content creation experience for creators Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in web development Implement and manage Google Tag Manager (GTM) to facilitate efficient tracking and analytics integration, including Google Analytics 4 (GA4) configuration Investigate and assess the feasibility of containerization for web applications Work collaboratively and supportively in a challenging and rewarding team-based environment to design and implement web development solutions Use a version control system such as Git to manage code changes and collaborate with other developers All other duties as assigned Application Procedures: To apply for this position, please continue the process on our website, https://gustavus.edu/humanresources/employment to complete the online application and submit a resume and any supporting documents.
