JMT, is currently ranked #59 on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.JMT is seeking a motivated and innovative Water Resources Project Engineer with 5-10 years of design experience to join their Eastern PA team. The team supports a variety of infrastructure projects throughout the region. In addition, the team leads several projects focused on implementing Green Stormwater Infrastructure in a highly urbanized area.The Project Engineer will perform various design, permitting, construction support, and inspection tasks. Candidates are expected to be well-versed across the water resources discipline. Demonstrating proficiency in drainage design, grading, erosion and sediment control design, stormwater management design, hydrology, and hydraulic modeling, permitting, utility coordination and clash detection, specification development, and quantity takeoffs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for upward mobility in leading and managing tasks.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesCandidates must be capable of working on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment.Candidates to be familiar with Federal, State and local jurisdiction design standards and regulatory requirements.Candidates need to understand the project lifecycle and design phases. They are expected to provide high quality deliverables in accordance with client specifications and requirements.Candidates to be capable of completing design tasks including but limited to:Identify watersheds, drainage patterns, and soil conditions.Delineate drainage areas to points of interest for analysis.Complete land cover and time of concentration calculationsDesign and analysis stormwater management practicesDesign drainage networks including the pipe, slope, and outfall locations.Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysisDevelop Post Construction Stormwater Management plans and detailsDevelop Erosion and Sediment Control plansComplete permit applications for state and local agenciesUtilize general engineering principles and practices dailyPrepare technical reports of design approach, methodology, and summary of results.Develop construction cost estimates, quantity take offs, prepare specifications, and package construction documents for bid.Coordinate with utility companies as needed to accommodate designs.Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline with the established quality.Candidates to be familiar with green infrastructure design in urban environments.Candidates to have excellent written and oral communication skills.Candidates to be capable of coordinating with contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, and JMT staff from multiple locations and technical disciplines is expected.Nonessential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform other related duties as assigned

  Required Experience6-10 years of experience in Land Development or Water Resources EngineeringProfessional Engineer (preferred)Hydrologic Modeling experience using TR55 / TR20 and Rational MethodologiesHydraulic Modeling experience using HEC-RASStormwater Management design experienceErosion and Sediment Control design experienceProficient in AutoDESK Civil 3D experienceStrong technical writer for report developmentContract Document preparation including Plans, Specifications and Cost EstimatesProficient in MS Office SoftwarePreferred ExperienceExperience working Department of Transportation pro ects.2-D Modeling experience using SWMM or comparable modelExperience with ORD SUDAExperience with advanced hydraulic modeling.

  Working ConditionsWork is performed within a general office environment 75% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.Applicant will need a valid driver license and mode of transportation to occasionally conduct site visits, field investigations, or inspections.JMT is an , and we are proud to be building an inclusive and diverse workforce.#LI-KM1
