  Summary This position is located at Pershing Community Center, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Bi-weekly reviews and lists will be sent to management starting 17 JAN 2024; additional lists may be sent at management request. Responsibilities Performs routine duties of servicing banquets. This position is basically waiter work, with fewer procedure requirements than those involved in positions in restaurant, café or bar operations. Involved in setting up and breaking down banquet settings and replenishing beverages. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Ability to follow simple oral and written instruction and an understanding of sanitary food and beverage handling techniques and an understanding of food preparation methods of food items. RESPONSIBILITY: Receives close supervision and guidance. Complies with proper procedures, methods, dress and hygiene codes. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Must meet the state/local age requirement (18 years) for the serving of alcoholic beverages. No prior training or work experience required. Applicants must be able to follow simple oral and/or written instructions. Highly Preferred Criteria: Possess experience in food service, preferably in catering or banquets. In order to be considered for the highly preferred criteria, your resume must show that you meet ALL the minimum qualifications and ALL highly preferred criteria. Applicants meeting the highly preferred criteria will be considered the best qualified and will be referred to the selecting official first. Remaining applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
