  Job Summary

  The Vice President of Business and Innovation is a strategic business leader and innovation veteran with a career spanning large, complex technology companies, entrepreneurial ventures, consulting engagements, commercial strategy that has fostered new partnerships and business cases where no blue-print previously existed. This executive is responsible for defining and developing a culture of innovation across the company that challenges the status quo, and creates a process for identifying, evaluating and embracing change to drive new revenue streams and profitability, as well as opportunities to advance our ability to provide best in class customer experiences through new tools and enablers. The Vice President will build an innovation process with the core leadership team to efficiently analyze new opportunities with a direct impact on the bottom line.

  The Vice President of Business Development and Innovation will coach and mentor, empowering teams to learn and perform at their highest potential while embracing diversity in thinking.

  Responsibilities

  Manage a balanced portfolio of growth projects that span disruptive initiatives focused on product, service, process, and business model innovationIdentify, develop and execute high-impact innovation strategy aligned to strategic business goals and growth prioritiesProvide proactive outreach and engagement with CTIO, B2C/B2B, CX, Finance, and Technology organizations to align priorities, needs, and requirements for strategic business initiatives and "big bets" that will inform business development and partner direction. Provide consistent readout and closed loop feedback to each respective organization on key initiativesDevelop and implement commercial strategy through design, leadership, and execution focusing on revenue growth, market positioning, customer experience and profitabilityConduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threatsExplore and evaluate opportunities with Product, CTIO, SPO, Network, CX, Sales, and Marketing leads for market expansion, including new regions, product lines, or customer segmentsIdentify external assets and companies that may accelerate innovation and market access through partnerships and acquisitionsWork with the Product, SPO, and CTIO organization to drive business requirements and provide initial feasibility study, cost, and tentative timelinesLead development and provide Optimum corporate guidance of key financial and investment analyses, due diligence and recommendations associated with Optimum's business case investment decisions for prioritized strategic partner new innovation initiativesDevelopment of innovation partner strategic plans and KPI performance management (eg. % share of market, total volume, successful achievement of launch/key deliverable dates, revenue/cost/expense targets, usage and end user engagement, Optimum market category growth, etc)Drive engagement across Optimum internal organizations (Operations, Technology, Sourcing, IT, Field Services, Technology, CX, Sales/Marketing, SPO, Product Management, HR, and Legal) to ensure fulfillment, delivery, and implementation of key strategic initiatives

  Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree or applicable years of work experience Minimum of 15 years of experience negotiating complex partnerships in technology, communications, and media sectorsMinimum ten years' experience of people leadership/management Previous telecom and media experience is highly preferred Expertise in articulating product functionality and demonstrating technical acumen Experience influencing and leading in a matrix environment Ability to work effectively with deeply technical partners, business stakeholders, and operational teams to organize, influence, and align them toward the best outcomes. Highly emotionally intelligent and must have superb communication and leadership skills

  This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $178,500.00-$293,250.00/ year. The rate/Range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
