Summary About the Position: Serves as the multimedia, Visual Information Specialist and subject matter expert for the United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM). Also serves as the local area network (LAN) and systems administrator. Is the command photographer responsible for providing photographic support services for the security management office under the headquarters commandant. Functions as the technical advisor of the multimedia/visual information branch. Responsibilities Operate new software applications, operating systems, high end printers, and multimedia/Visual Information Systems for the command's briefings and publications. Use computers and computer applications to communicate information in the multimedia/visual appropriate format. Develop video and audio ideas to include verbal and written requirements into multimedia presentations. Create production display and visual presentations in support of the command's mission and needs. Advise customers on appropriate and most cost effective multimedia/visual information branch for projects. Operate as multimedia/visual information specialist and media consultant in the area of presentations, printed materials, exhibits, photography, and conference support operations. Advise staff and end-users regarding visual information facilities, equipment and aids available to best meet their mission and needs.
